Jannika is a German documentary filmmaker and journalist, located in Hamburg and Ludwigsburg. She offers an infinite passion for visual storytelling, directing and writing. 

Since December 2024, Jannika works on a regular basis for the department research and investigative journalism at the public broadcaster NDR in Hamburg.

Based on her long term working experiences as a journalist for the German national broadcasting channels ARD and ZDF, for different newspapers and production companies and a crossmedial education at Stuttgart Media University and Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg she features a various range of skills as a director, producer, researcher, journalist, writer and Social Media content creator.  

Supporting the international and intercultural exchange in documentary filmmaking is important to Jannika. In January 2024, she became part of this year's Young Europeans Jury at FIPADOC film festival in France. In November 2024, Jannika became a university lecturer to support a cooperation between Stuttgart Media University and Germany's biggest francophone film festival "Französische Filmtage Tübingen".

At her graduate film school, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Jannika teaches short story fiction writing together with fellow scriptwriting alumni Madeleine Hartung. In 2025 Madeleine and Jannika took over as publishers of Filmakademie's annual short stories competition. 

In her latest films and stories the filmmaker deals with social grievances and issues of equality and human rights.
